My takeaway from this announcement is that Meta is prioritizing vibes over news.  So much social media toxicity and hostility stems from people interacting with political POVs that are contrary to their own.  They seem to want to minimize that downside by minimizing the cause of it even if it means minimizing the upside, the spreading of politically important information. …
