Even with Threads not amplifying political accounts, I am still seeing a ton of political updates in my “for you” feed with the Trump verdict.  Changing into the chronological feed makes it even easier to keep up to date with the news since I follow a bunch of journalists/news orgs.

Trending on Threads is underwhelming since it's only 5 topics and it's unclear how much moderation impacts what can appear.  On the other end of the spectrum, X is far more open, but regularly has Trending topics that are racist, sexist, or unhinged conspiracies.
