When I asked state and federal agencies if they are monitoring what data is being collected and what happens to it, I was met with a circular game of finger-pointing. The upshot is that no one is explicitly tasked with policing how Chinese self-driving cars handle U.S. data.

While there is no evidence the Chinese govt is actually using these cars for spying or war planning, it is developing a legal framework that connects company data to the govt, so that as technologies progress, there will be a structure in place for data transfer, @AynneKokas said [image]
