The 2020 election was free and fair.  Donald Trump lost.  Chris Krebs & other public servants told the truth about this.  They were fired, and now they're having the retribution experience.  Trump is revoking the security clearances of people who he says “falsely and baselessly denied that the 2020 election was rigged and stolen”. …

Ten current and former Meta employees share frustrations over Meta's surrender to the right on speech issues; one called the changes “a precursor for genocide”

Meta's fact-checking overhaul is set to deepen a growing schism between how platforms handle content moderation in the US and in stricter regions like Europe

As platform scales back moderation in line with conservative demands in the U.S., it still has to maneuver through stiffer regulations in Europe and elsewhere.

One thing to note here is that the conversation about “will deepfakes swing the election?!” always focuses on the idea of voting-specific manipulation.  In the spam and scam realm, and here in general political propaganda as well, people are engaging with these images because they believe they're real.  They are forming opinions about the political scenarios purportedly shown.
