The HBM3E used in H200 has 50% more memory capacity and bandwidth than older chips. It's the memory that is key to making modern AI chips — the same memory used in Blackwells, our VERY BEST chips. Why would we give Huawei the keys to the kingdom? [image]

Allowing China to buy H200s would be a catastrophic own goal. Not only is the chip almost twice as power-efficient as what we currently allow (H20) — but it is made with HBM3E, the one scarce component Chinese companies still struggle to make! https://www.reuters.com/...
