Today, I am very proud to share our $50M in funding to build AI systems that continually learn across languages, cultures and industries. Even more important proud to share why this is important to us here: https://www.adaptionlabs.ai/

Adaption Labs, which aims to create AI systems that learn continuously and cost less to run than current top models, raised a $50M seed led by Emergence Capital

Sara Hooker, an AI researcher and advocate for cheaper AI systems that use less computing power, is hanging her own shingle.

Beginnings are very special. Today is an important day for @adaptionlabs. Today a handful of one-size-fits-all-models are optimized for the average use case. Averages erase the exceptional. Everything intelligent adapts. So should AI. [video]

Huge congrats to the @askalphaxiv team! 🔥 There are few ideas that raise the collective outcome with no tradeoffs. alphaXiv has changed the ease of discovery of new ideas. A very worthy rebellion, alphaXiv is moving us beyond decades of sharing knowledge only using pdfs.

Lol why does every open ai media — whether videos of model launches or photos of devs excited about the technology have almost no women. Super unfortunate when so many incredible women build cutting edge technology. Is this what open looks like? Open to whom? Access for whom?

OpenAI releases GPT‑4.1, GPT‑4.1 mini, and GPT‑4.1 nano, which excel at coding, instruction following, and long context understanding, available via its API

OpenAI on Monday launched a new family of models called GPT-4.1.  Yes, “4.1” — as if the company's nomenclature wasn't confusing enough already.

I am very proud of this work. Data creation is already undervalued, but our current licensing means attribution is difficult even for practitioners who want to do the right thing. This is critical work to empower reliable data provenance and a call to improve data transparency.

Analysis of 1,800 AI datasets: ~70% didn't state what license should be used or had been mislabeled with more permissive guidelines than their creators intended

Fantastic piece by @nitashatiku putting the spotlight on the release of the Data Provenance Initiative. We joined forces to audit and trace the data provenance of nearly 2,000 of the most widely used fine-tuning datasets. https://www.washingtonpost.com/ ...
